TERRY SCALI / MANAGING MEMBER

  • Terry founded Milne Scali & Company Insurance Services (MSC) in October 1990 in Phoenix, Arizona. In 2002 Terry sold MSC to a publicly traded National Bank. While the agency continued to succeed, the insurance culture he built did not align with the banking culture. When Terry resigned from the Board of Directors to pursue his business interests, MSC had grown to over $210 million in sales and over $17 million in commission revenues with a net income of over 30% under Terry's leadership.

    In January 2006, Terry combined National Commercial Insurance & Surety Specialists, Inc. and Mike Lapre Insurance Agency. Terry and Mike Lapre merged these two agencies to form Lapre Scali & Company Insurance Services, LLC. In 5 years, Lapre Scali grew to over 140+ colleagues in multiple locations throughout Arizona and Nevada, with annual operating revenues above $20,500,000.

    Terry joined NFP in 2011 when NFP acquired his firm, Lapre Scali & Company Insurance Services. His vision was to grow NFP, predominantly an employee benefits broker at the time, into a top full-service brokerage with robust P&C capabilities across the country. He served as CEO of NFP Property and Casualty Services, Inc. from 2011 until 2019 and was the team leader for NFP's expansion in the P&C space. In 2018, Terry transitioned to a new role focused on broader corporate strategy. He continued as a member of the NFP board, deploying his P&C industry expertise to help fulfill the company's vision and advise NFP's P&C M&A activity. For his tenure at NFP, P&C revenue grew from $50 M to $500 M through strategic acquisitions and organic growth. Throughout his career, Terry has completed over 140 acquisitions.

  • Joe is the owner and founder of Scali Group, LLC, a buy-side investment banking firm focused on insurance agencies throughout the US that he formed in 2013.

    He has originated +65 acquisitions in the insurance sector with a total transaction volume of >$500m and has sourced transactions for several of the top 50 US brokers.

    Joe earned his bachelor of science degree in finance from the University of Arizona and holds property & casualty insurance and real estate licenses in Arizona.

  • Teresa has 25+ years of HR experience in the insurance industry. She worked with Mr. Scali for 20 years as an HR executive at MSC, Lapre Scali, and NFP.

    Teresa has substantial experience with acquisition integration, due diligence, onboarding, retention, and employee continuity.

    She departed Brown & Brown as a regional business partner to join Scali Insurance Group. Teresa is a Society of Human Resources Management member and was named a finalist for the HR director of the year by Phoenix Business Journal.

    He departed as CFO of regional health & wellness operator to join Scali Insurance Group and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.

VICE PRESIDENT OF ACCOUNTING AND AGENCY OPERATIONS

  • Dennis Via joined Scali Insurance Group in August 2023 upon returning to the greater Phoenix area. He has an extensive background in insurance agency accounting and management. Some of Dennis’s responsibilities will include supporting Mike with due diligence and agency acquisitions, month-end review, month-end reconciliation, forecasting, budgeting, and analysis. Dennis will also be involved with special projects in mergers and acquisitions and QOE due diligence.

    Dennis was recently the Chief Financial Officer of an Oil & gas wholesale/retail distribution company from October 2020 on the Eastern Shore of Maryland. Mr. Via had returned to the Maryland area with his family from Phoenix to help with certain family matters while focusing on the growth of this company and its ancillary businesses. He helped to double the size of the company through acquisitions.

    Previously, he was the CFO of NFP Property and Casualty Services, Inc. (NFPPC) based in Scottsdale, Arizona, and was also formerly CFO for Lapre Scali & Company Insurance Services, LLC, in Scottsdale, AZ. Mr. Via lived for 15 years in Arizona.

    Mr. Via has a Life Insurance, P&C Insurance Carrier, and P&C Agency / Brokerage background. He has been CFO of private and public insurance agencies/brokers for 15 years, including The Horton Group, one of Chicago’s largest private insurance brokers, and NFP Property & Casualty Insurance Company Inc (based in Scottsdale, AZ).

    His diverse insurance experience includes 16 years with Zurich Insurance Company, holding Executive positions in several carrier subsidiaries in the US, the North American Headquarters, and the World Headquarters in Zurich, Switzerland. His Executive responsibilities over the years have included Financial Planning, Internal Audit, Treasury, Investments, Cash Management, Billing and collections, North American Regional Management, Chief Financial Officer and President of Premium Finance operations.

    His experiences include M&A activity (including working with PE firms), re-alignments / restructuring, due diligence, transitions and integration, strategic planning, growth strategies, and organic growth initiatives.

    Mr. Via also practiced for 11 years as a CPA with Ernst & Young in Baltimore, Maryland, servicing a diverse client base of SEC-registered and privately held companies specializing in life insurance and manufacturing, including Fortune 500. He serviced various clients in the banking, healthcare, real estate, textile, oil & gas, and defense/aerospace industries. He is an accounting graduate of the University of Maryland with a minor concentration in Finance and completed certain postgraduate studies at Johns Hopkins University, attended the Management and Executive Development Programs at Kellogg Northwestern, is a member of Beta Alpha Psi (national accounting honors society), and is a Fellow of the Life Management Institute (FLMI).

    His past involvement with civic, charitable, and non-profit organizations has included being a Volunteer in an Advisory Role to the Board of Governors, an Advisor to the Finance Committee of the Board, and a Board member.

  • As the VP of Finance at Scali Insurance Group, I bring more than 30 years of diverse corporate finance, accounting, and business leadership experience.

    I previously served as Vice President of Finance at Set Jet, Inc., a membership-based private jet company. During my 5 years there, I lead all aspects of their financial strategy, performance reporting and long-range business planning, as well as investor relations, controller, and audit operations. I also oversaw and managed all human resources and business development activities.

    Before Set Jet, Inc., I served as Director of Finance and Litigation Support for Semple, Marchal & Cooper, LLP, one of the leading regional Certified Public Accounting firms in the Southwest. During my 15 years there, I was responsible for managing all client-referred forensic accounting and internal investigations resulting from fraud and malfeasance and worked closely with attorneys and court-appointed receivers to provide expert reports and testimony. In addition to my work with litigation, I also led financial strategy and capital structure, sourcing, and real estate management, and oversaw ongoing process improvements across the firm.

    Before Semple, Marchal & Cooper, LLP, I worked as a Financial Analyst at The Tech Group, a plastics injection molder and contract manufacturer that serves the medical and consumer industries and was instrumental in preparing it for its acquisition by West Pharmaceutical Services, Inc. (NYSE: WST). Prior to that, I served as a Senior Financial Analyst at Cerprobe Corporation (NASDAQ: CRPB), a company that designs, manufactures, and markets products for the high-performance testing of integrated circuits and other microelectronics components.

    I am a former Executive Board member of Every Kid Counts (EKC), a non-profit 501 (C) public charity, which allows youth to participate in programs to give them a great opportunity to learn, be involved and find solutions to the challenges they face in today’s society.

    I am a licensed Certified Fraud Examiner and earned my MBA from the University of Phoenix in Phoenix, Arizona and my Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance from Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas.

  • Brandon is the founder of United Commercial Insurance (UCI).

    Brandon worked for Supervalu (Albertsons Grocery) as a process improvement specialist and then took a position in the transportation industry, working with companies all over the country implementing drug and alcohol testing programs. Brandon worked for many trucking companies during this time and developed relationships with firms all over the western states.

    He founded UCI in 2013 with a focus on transportation and trucking Insurance. Since then, UCI has grown from a one-person operation to one of the largest commercial transportation agencies in the country. UCI now has over 21 employees and writes policies in 45 states. UCI is primarily positioned in transportation but is growing in non-transportation-based commercial lines insurance.

  • Ali is the founder of Lafferty Private Client Group (LPCG) and Managing Director with Scali Insurance Group.

    LPCG provides risk management and property and casualty insurance (homeowners, collectors, high-value autos, jewelry, fine art, watercraft and yachts, aircraft, personal umbrella, etc.) for affluent individuals and families within the United States.

    Ali’s insurance background and experience are within the personal and commercial insurance sectors. In 1989, Ali began her insurance career at Aetna as a commercial underwriter for the Southwest region of the United States. Ali then joined Milne Scali & Co. in 1993 as a commercial insurance producer, where her success as a top producer earned her a partnership role at Terry Scali’s agency.

    In March 2014, Ali joined NFP and started the Arizona Private Client office. Ali was consistently a top (3) producer within NFP’s Private Client Group’s national platform, to which she contributes her client-focused approach and creating a culture of collaboration with colleagues and the client’s circle of advisors.

    Lafferty Private Client Group was established in November 2020. Ali’s vision was to create an agency that always put the client's needs first.

    In August 2021, Ali became a partner at Scali, LLC.; This would be her second time being a partner with Terry Scali.

    She aligned with Terry’s vision to create a national insurance agency focused on clients, colleagues, and culture.   • Jason Huth, a Denver, Colorado native, is one of the Founders and Managing Partners for FIT Insurance Group, LLC. Jason helps businesses through his experienced consulting, implementation, and long-term service approach. He is passionate about helping all sizes of companies find the right FIT for their insurance needs while maintaining lasting relationships.

    Before starting FIT Insurance Group, Jason moved his family to Phoenix, AZ, in 2002 after retiring from his professional baseball career with the Cincinnati Reds. His business career started with small to medium size businesses providing solutions for payroll processing, human resource support, and employee benefits. He then collaborated with the nation’s largest privately held payroll company, CompuPay (currently BenefitMall), to help start their benefits division in Phoenix. Due to his success with CompuPay, Humana recruited Jason to join their Large Group consulting team. Responsible for working with companies with 100 or more employees, he developed strategic insurance structures supporting each business’s unique benefits goals.

    Jason has supported his community in Ahwatukee by giving his time to coaching youth club baseball for nine years. Additionally, Jason is an active community member committed to strengthening Arizona families by giving to children’s and pet charities throughout the state.

    Jason is a father of three and has been married to his middle school sweetheart, Kendra, for 25 years. He enjoys traveling with his family near a beach or mountains in his spare time and played baseball for three years as a starter for Texas Tech University on a full-ride combination of academic and athletic scholarships. Jason holds a Bachelor of Arts degree focused on holistic health, obtained from Texas Tech University after completing his senior thesis on Chiropractic Theory.

  • Born and raised in Denver, CO, but having had the opportunity to live all over the country, Kendra and her family chose to settle in Phoenix, Arizona, in 2002. After taking a couple of years off from the corporate world of banking and the venture capitalist industry to grow her family, she started a new career path with the nation's largest privately held payroll company, CompuPay (currently BenefitMall).

    Kendra's role as a regional manager of sales allowed her to work with small to medium size businesses, selling solutions for payroll processing, human resource support, and employee benefits. After building a territory through client and partner relationships, Kendra felt passionate about building her venture from the ground up. In 2010, Kendra left corporate America to establish FIT Insurance Group, a health and life insurance agency. Kendra has grown the agency to manage a book of business consisting of individual and group clients ranging in size from 2 to 300 plus employees.

    Kendra runs a business that focuses on sticking to high moral standards, which has been essential to her current success. As an effective communicator, she focuses her consulting on tried and true methods and incorporates new concepts to help support her client's business. She enjoys assisting clients in utilizing benefits as a resource, aiding the company during times of growth. Kendra's primary goal is to facilitate all facets of customer service, claims resolution, and enrollment for her clients. FIT Insurance Group has strategic solid partner relationships that Kendra has cultivated as a catalyst to building a strong insurance agency over the last 12 years in the industry.

    Kendra's passion is traveling with her family wherever there are memories to be made. Growing up surrounded by athletes and being one herself, she still enjoys staying active alongside her husband and three children while supporting them in their extracurricular activities. Being outdoors and spending time with her close-knit group of friends and family is where she is most content with life. Kendra is also an active community member committed to strengthening Arizona families by donating to children's and pet charities statewide.

JEFF NEILL

  • Jeff Neill was born and raised in Scottsdale, Arizona. He began his insurance career at a local firm specializing in workers’ compensation insurance. After gaining experience as a producer, Jeff moved to Nashville, Tennessee, to enter the world of self-employment. He founded Arrowhead Risk Management in June 2018. Since founding Arrowhead, Jeff has served clients from various industries, such as construction, manufacturing, agriculture, staffing, healthcare, and cannabis.

    On December 1st, 2022, Arrowhead was acquired by Scali Insurance and merged with the US National branch, led by Steven Klumb, a longtime colleague and friend of Jeff’s. Jeff is excited to grow with the team at Scali in this new chapter of his career.

    When he’s not working, he enjoys spending time at Saguaro Lake, hiking Camelback Mountain, barbecuing on the patio, or playing fetch with his dog, Hank.

  • Kristin Waldoch grew up in Minnesota and enjoyed snowboarding and playing soccer in her youth. After college, she joined her father at his insurance agency, UniDale Insurance, in 2013. Over the years, Kristin has learned the ins and outs of the E&S market and how to secure coverage for complex risks. Kristin took full ownership of Unidale Insurance in 2021 and decided to join Scali in April 2023. By partnering with Scali, she plans to build off what her father started and take the agency to new heights.

    Kristin hopes to start a family soon, but in the meantime, she enjoys relaxing with her husband and two cats. She also loves watching HGTV, where she gets too many DIY ideas that she never seems to have enough time to finish.

  • Wendy was born and raised in Los Angeles, California, until she moved to Dodge City, Kansas, in 1995. She began her career in the insurance industry with American Family Insurance, The Joseph Peters Agency, in 2001 as a Licensed Agent & Office Manager servicing everything from Home, Auto, Life, & Commercial Insurance. In 2006 Wendy began a new journey as an Independent Agent /Agency Manager with AutoSure, Inc. managing two office locations—one in Dodge City and the other in Liberal, Kansas.

    On May 1st, 2023, AutoSure was acquired by Scali Insurance and merged with Farm and City Insurance Services. She continued her role in Managing and Servicing both office locations, running daily sales and business operations.

    When she’s not working, Wendy enjoys camping trips, barbecuing, traveling, but most of all, spending time with her friends and family.

  • Rick Mascolino is the President of Forte Services LLC., whose motto is “Insurance is our Forte, Service is our Strength.” Rick brings over 30 years of experience in insurance agency ownership, executive-level leadership, sales, and sales management. He was born in Waukegan, Illinois, moved to Arizona in 2021, and is the proud Father of 4 boys.

    Rick aspires to continue to be the best Husband and Father he can be by choosing to use life’s lessons and learn from them daily. His Team has accomplished more than they could ever dream of, but they are most proud of the service they provide to every client every day, year in and year out. Rick loves spending time with his wife, whether traveling the earth or relaxing, doing nothing but enjoying each other’s time.
